  Safety and Reliability
Since the escalator has specific demands with regard to passenger loads and long working hours, there are strict requirements to the safe performance of the escalator. In order to ensure the safe running of the escalator with high efficiency, the bellowed safety technology is used:

  1. Transmitting safe parts: It can cut off the power of motor and braking system when there is a break or an over-pulling of the driving chains. The manual operation can stop down sliding of the escalator.
  2. Stepping chain safe parts:
It can cut off the powe of motor and braking system if there is abreak or an over-pulling of the stepping chains.
  3. Handrail entrance safe parts: If there is anything inserted to the handrail entrance, the power of motor and braking system can be cut off accordingly.
  4. Electromagnetic brakes of the driving part:: this is a brake with manual closing and electromagnetic loosing. It can reliably control the up and down activity of the escalator. The input shaft installed in the retarder can automatically stop the escalator if there is a power cut-off of the driving motor.
  5. Speed limitor: The input shaft installed in the retarder can cut off the power of the motor and the brake if the speed of the escalator diverses for more than 20% of the rated speed.
  6. Skirt board safe part: If there is anything inserted in the place between the steps and the skirt board, the power of the driving motor and the brake can be cut off.
  7. Curve guiding rail safe part: If there is anything between two steps, or between the top / botom curving part step and the skirt board while going down, the power of driving motor and brake can be cut off.
  8. Step sinking safe part: If there is a breaking of any shaft, and the combing tooth cannot be meshed, it can cut off the power of the driving motor ad the brake, and the sinking step cannot reach the intersection line of the combing tooth.
   9. Non-operation reversing protection: If the escalator accidentally runs in a
reverse direction, the power of the motor and brake can be cut off. This function is included in the speed regulator.
  10. Handrail entrance protecting cover: In order to avoid any incidence, there is a soft rubber cover at the entrance of the moving handrail.
  11. Emmergency stoping button: It is at the top and the bottom of the entrance of the escalator; pushing either button will cut off the power of the driving motor and brake.
  12. Combing board safe switch: If anything is between the combing board and the steps, the power of the motor and brake can be cut off.
  13. Handrail belt switch: it Checks the loosing degree and breaks of the handrail belt, and can cut off the power of the motor and brake.
  14. Auxiliary brake: It is in the top room. If the running speed is 20% below or over the rated speed, it can cut off the power of the motor and brake.

  Save Resource and Space
  With the installation of the retarder with high precision and special chain support, the wear and tear while running is expressively reduced, so the power consumption is reduced accordingly. Compared to the traditional automatic escalator with the same specification, the energy saving of Rhein lift can reach 30%. Due to the high intensity and compact structure, no middle supporting column is necessary for escalators with height under 6 m, so space is saved as well.

  Convenient Maintenance
  The new type vertical driving system supplies enough space for maintenance work; New typed support makes it more easy to assemble and disassemble the steps; The handrail driving part can regulate the tension force of the chain, it makes the replacement of the parts of the shaft and handrail more convenient; the automatic lubricant part can reduce the labour of manual oil filling, at the same time, it can ensure the lubricating demand coming from each section of the automatic escalator.
